Charlestown Harbour’s first ever Food Festival – Saturday 18th June 2022, 10am until sunset, FREE entry.
Charlestown Food Fest is an action-packed day full of family activities, food and live music. Based in Charlestown’s historic Georgian Port, the festival plans to offer much more than just food demonstrations and traders.
Charlestown Food Fest is offering a wide range of events and activities for children and families, as well as offering some great local food, drink, craft and produce. The activities for children and families include many that are completely free of charge; 4 Real Dance Company dance workshops, Meet a Mermaid, storytelling on board a pirate ship, Life of a Lobster from the National Lobster Hatchery, a scavenger hunt and much more! Regulars at Charlestown, Rock and Roots Beach and Forest School, will be in attendance, with their much-loved Beach School (£15) and also Crafting sessions on board the tall ship Kajsamoor (£5). For yoga lovers Kids Yoga Cornwall are running a child and parent session for just £6 per adult & child, all bookable online.
For adults, the Discarded Spirits Co, one of the leaders in the sustainable drinks movement creating drinks out of ingredients that would otherwise have been wasted will be on board Thames Barge Lady Daphne. Lady Daphne will also be the host of an exclusive dining experience, catered by the Longstore Team, and all served below deck on this beautiful historic ship. Dining on Lady Daphne takes place on Friday 17th June and there are limited places available (price £35).
From 10am until Sunset, Charlestown Food Fest is offering a range of delicious culinary experiences, from Mediterranean to Mexican to Cornish, and there will be food and drink demonstrations throughout, including how to make the perfect Bloody Mary with The Longstore’s very own Bearded Barman! Especially for the festival, as well as their regular menus, the Harbour’s own pop-ups are each offering one dish for just £5. Children can enjoy an extra-special Pirate Brunch from the Rum Sailor or Pirate Lunch from HBQ.
Musical entertainment is throughout the day and includes local steel band, Steel Appeal and at 7pm the amazing James Shead Trio will playing live in the Harbour.
