Historic Harbour Wedding Venue on the stunning south coast of Cornwall
For those looking for a wedding venue in Cornwall with a difference, Charlestown Harbour is a unique venue for both ceremonies and receptions.
Charlestown Harbour, one of Cornwall’s most iconic locations, is now available for couples seeking a memorable and timelessly beautiful setting to marry. This small, privately owned Grade II listed Georgian harbour and UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a picturesque and characterful location for your celebration.
Steeped in maritime history and home to a fleet of striking classic ships, couples can marry in the intimate climes of The Round House, which can be found at the end of the east side of the harbour, offering sweeping views across St Austell Bay. Built in the late 1800s, the atmospheric space can host intimate ceremonies with up to eight guests in attendance, while larger receptions can take place in the heart of the Inner Harbour.
Create a tailored package to suit your requirements, from a drinks reception on the harbour to a delicious meal catered by the team behind Charlestown’s popular restaurant, The Longstore.
Wedding Ceremonies
We host a range of wedding and civil partnership ceremonies in our beautiful Cornish harbour location.
Weddings in Charlestown Harbour can be tailored to suit your wishes. Smaller, elopement style ceremonies for up to 8 people take place in the iconic Round House, which is an intimate location, overlooking St Austell Bay, with breathtaking views. The area surrounding the Round House is exclusive to the couple for their big day, and entirely closed to the public.
Larger weddings ceremonies can seat up to 70 people either outside the Round House, or around the Inner Harbour itself, with specific areas closed to the public for the duration of your celebration.
Wedding Receptions
What better location for wedding receptions and celebrations in Cornwall than our traditional harbour setting.
Charlestown Harbour offers a range of options for your celebration. After the legal ceremony, couples can enjoy photographs with a glass of fizz outside the Round House, looking out to sea. A walk along the beautiful East Beach also makes for a fantastic photo opportunity of the newlyweds. From April – October, receptions can also be held at one of our pop-up eateries within the Inner Harbour.
