Charlestown Harbour’s unique Georgian Inner Harbour is now open again to the public, and with it are some fantastic seasonal pop-ups as well as unique experiences both on and off the water.

Food and drink

In the Inner Harbour there is a wonderful range of food and drink pop-ups all with stunning quayside views. From 9am, serving breakfast, brunch, pizza and Mediterranean dishes there is Murat’s and The Knuckle Bar. HarbourQ has mouth-watering BBQ feasts, their famous dirty fries and a great range of frozen cocktails to sit and enjoy in the sun. They also have the option to sit and dine on board classic ship Pen Glas – a great spot to watch harbour life.  Charlestown Fish Co offers a delicious range of fresh fish dishes ranging from mussels to fish tacos to traditional fish and chips.  Charlestown Coffee Co offers tasty barista coffee, cream teas and other tasty treats and The Rum Sailor has not only over 500 rums, but a great selection of spirits and beers to enjoy on the Inner Harbour,

Shopping

The Harbour also boasts a number of local independent shops offering a range of gifts, arts and crafts. Cornish Cream offers a fantastic range of local liqueurs, rum, fudge, cream tea gifts and other Cornish treats. Charlestown Beach Shop has a brilliant range of beach goods, toys, sunglasses, jewellery, clothes, gifts and lots of other goodies. A Little Bit of Cornwall is a collective of talented local artists based in the Round House, with a beautiful range of different art and crafts.  Within the village there’s also some wonderful art, craft and jewellery shops to browse. 

On the water

From May, Gylly Adventures are back,  offering kayak and SUP tours and hire from our beautiful port, allowing exquisite views around St Austell Bay whilst you paddle. Gylly Adventures can be found on the Outer East Quay, just below the Round House or you can book online.

Also from May, we are delighted that Cornwall Seafari will be operating from the Harbour, with a range of tours operating from (some of which will be at high speed!).

Events

Look out on our social media pages for news about events, including monthly cinema screenings on board Thames Sailing Barge Lady Daphne. Lady Daphne also hosts a variety of other events such as music evenings, historical talks and craft sessions.

NB: Occasionally, due to extremely poor weather or urgent Harbour operations, the Inner Harbour closes temporarily.
