Charlestown Harbour’s beautiful Georgian Inner Harbour is now open again to the public, and with it are some fantastic seasonal pop-ups as well as unique experiences both on and off the water.

The Harbour also boasts a number of local independent shops offering a range of gifts, arts and crafts. Cornish Cream offers a fantastic range of local liqueurs, rum, fudge, cream tea gifts and other Cornish treats. Surfbox Cornwall has a brilliant range of t-shirts, caps, sunglasses, jewellery and lots of other Cornish goodies. New for 2022 is  A Little Bit of Cornwall, a collective of talented local artists based in the Round House.  Within the village there’s also some wonderful art, craft and jewellery shops to browse.

On the water

From mid-April, we have some fantastic sailing experiences available on stunning classic ships Anny and Mascotte, including day sails and also longer residential voyages. A new addition to Anny’ssailing schedule is our Wild Swimming Sailing Days, offering the opportunity to sail then swim off Anny at anchor (there is a qualified lifeguard on board), followed by some lunch and a glass of fizz . Tickets for all sailing experiences are available via our online shop.

From May, Gylly Adventures are back,  offering kayak and SUP tours and hire from our beautiful port, allowing exquisite views around St Austell Bay whilst you paddle. Gylly Adventures can be found on the Outer East Quay, just below the Round House or you can book online.

For Children

We are delighted that Rock and Roots Beach and Forest School are joining us at the Harbour this this year. They are running Holiday Club sessions every Tuesday in the school holidays and also Saturday Clubs term time. These sessions are opportunities for children and young people to make friends, play, learn new skills and enjoy the outdoors, all using our unique location, with private woodland for adventures, beaches to discover and a stunning tall ship in the Inner Harbour to explore. To find out more or to book, visit Rock and Roots.
